Organizers from DSA chapters across New York will join with socialist electeds and other supporters in the legislature to demand a budget that puts people over profit.

Albany, New York — On February 13th, organizers with the Democratic Socialists of America and Invest in Our New York will head to Albany to meet with state legislators and rally with supporters in the campaign to #TaxTheRich. The working class built New York and its incredible wealth, but decades of disinvestment in public goods, attacks on labor, and giveaways to the ultra-wealthy have made it harder and harder for working-class people to make ends meet. Now, as the pandemic recession gives way to a cost of living crisis, New Yorkers are fed up. It’s time to change course. When we #TaxTheRich this year, we will protect tenants and fund access to housing, free universal childcare, tuition-free higher education, publicly-owned clean energy, and Fix the MTA. Learn more about our vision as we rally with allies in the Capitol to fight for a budget that finally puts people over profit.
